Description:
When editing content in the content editor, the font format selected will not be retained on a new line under certain conditions. This can happen in both Original and Ultra courses, although slightly different steps need to be taken in the Ultra document.
Steps to Repeat:
For Original Courses:
- Log into Blackboard Learn as an administrator
- Create an Original course, access it and Quick Enroll
- Under Course Content create a new "Item" content item by entering a title first, then change the font type to Impact or Georgia or anything other than the default Arial.
- Type one simple sentence and then hit 'enter' twice
- On the second line type another sentence but leave the blank line as it is. Place your cursor in various areas of the text to confirm that wherever you go, the font is Impact. Save the content Item.
- Edit the content by adding any text to the existing lines, not the Blank line
Observed Behavior: The Impact font did not change on these lines, and any new text added to these lines is Impact.
- Place your cursor on the "Blank" line and start typing
Observed Behavior:Before saving the blank line, and after confirming the font type is Impact by placing the cursor on that Blank line, when the user starts typing the text changes to the default Arial without manual intervention.
Expected Behavior: The text remains as Impact.
For Ultra Courses:
- Log into Blackboard Learn as an administrator
- Access an Ultra course
- In the Content Area hover below the last content there to get the Plus sign > Click the plus sign> click o Create and choose Document > Add Content, and give it a name.
- In the Ultra text editor before typing anything change the font to a different one from the default font type, for example "Courier New".
- Type one simple sentence and click Enter on keyboard to go to next line and check what font is there. Do not type anything on this line.
Observed Behavior: The text remains with 'Courier New' font type.
- Hit return again for a second blank line and check the Font for each of the blank line
Observed Behavior:
The font chosen in the Content Editor reverts to the default font type on some lines.
Expected Behavior:
The font chosen in the Content Editor remains within the document, unless the user manually changes it to another type.
