Description:
When copying Original courses with gradable Group Discussions set up in legacy groups with Group sets into Ultra courses, the groups and group sets copy into the Ultra course as well as the grade columns but the discussions do not. The columns cannot be deleted. It looks like the columns are orphaned but really they are not and are still associated to discussion forums in the course in the database. A similar behavior happens when just converting an instructor's choice course concerning the "undeletable" columns.
Steps to Repeat:
- Log into Blackboard Learn as an administrator
- Create an Instructor's choice course with the Original view
- Under Users and Groups create a group set with two groups. Ensure a group discussion is created under each and make the discussion gradable
- Convert the course to Ultra and set it as an Ultra course
- Access the course and go to Groups
Observed Behavior: The group set and groups copy over.
- Go to Discussions
Observed Behavior: There are no discussions converted.
- Go to the Gradebook
Observed Behavior: The columns that were associated to the legacy group discussions are in the Gradebook. When clicking on it, the user goes out of Base Navigation and a page stating "Uh-oh. We can't find that page." appears.
- Navigate back to the Gradebook and try to delete one of the group discussion columns

- Create two courses (Original and Ultra) and enroll an instructor in each
- Set the Original Course as the Instructor's choice course with a group set and with the gradable group discussions.
- Go to the Ultra course and copy the Original Course into it
- Once the copy is complete, in the Ultra course navigate to Discussions
Observed Behavior: There are no discussions.
- Navigate to Groups.
Observed Behavior:The group sets/Groups copy over.
- Go to Gradebook
Observed Behavior:The columns from the legacy group discussions are there and when trying to delete them the following error is displayed:
