Release Condition Hides the Student's Grade in the Gradebook

Description:

Once the test/assignment release conditions 'Access until' date lapses, the grade is not visible to the student in the Gradebook.

Steps to Repeat:
  1. Log into Blackboard Learn Ultra Experience as an administrator
  2. Navigate to System Admin > Courses > and access an Ultra course
  3. In the course, create a Test and add a True/False question and click on Save
  4. Click on Assessment Settings
  5. Uncheck the option Post assessment grades automatically
  6. Click the Submission View, Available after submission link
  7. Set Allow students to view their submission to After individual grade is posted
  8. Set Show question scores to After individual grade is posted, and click on Save
  9. Select Release conditions, choose Date/Time, and provide the Access From and Access Until dates and times
  10. Click on Save
  11. Log in as a student and submit the test
  12. As the instructor, access the course and go to Gradebook > Gradable Items and post the student’s grade
  13. Once the Access Until date/time has lapsed, check the Gradebook as the student

 

Observed Behavior:

The grade for the attempted test is not visible to the student.

 

Expected Behavior:
The grade for the attempted test should be visible to the student.




Resolution/Workaround:

If the Release condition is removed and the test is temporarily made Available, then reapplying the Release condition, the grades become visible to the student while the content remains unavailable.
