Description:
'Late Submission' is displayed for the student group who submitted the assignment on time based on the exception given between different group of students.
For example: An instructor creates 3 groups of students (Group A, Group B, and Group C), and the assignment is set as following.
Due date: 11/14/23 2:00 PM
Assigned groups: 3 groups (Group A, Group B, Group C)
Setting exceptions of Group A in Submissions Page:
Assessment due date of Group A: 11/24 12:00 AM
Assessment due date of Group B: 11/25 12:00 AM
Assessment due date of Group C: 11/28 12:00 AM
Student 1 is a member of Group A, s/he submits the assignment on11/14/23 2:07 PM. Even though the student submitted the assignment on time for the group, when the instructor checks the Student Activity, the assignment is listed as late.
Steps to Repeat:
- Log into Blackboard Learn Ultra Experience as an administrator
- Create an Ultra Course and enroll eight student users
- Create an assignment > Set a due date
- Click on Assignment Settings > Assign to groups > Set groups as random and assign the student users into three groups > Click on Submit
- On the assignment screen, click on the Submission tab
- Click on the ellipsis (three dots) across the groups > Add or edit exceptions
- Set assessment due date after the due date on step 3 for the first group example
- Log in as a student who belongs to group 1 and attempt the test after the due date on step 3, but before the date and time in step 7.
- Log in as an instructor and access the course > go to the test > Click on the Student Activity tab
Observed Behavior:'Late Submission' is displayed for the group who submitted the assignment on time based on the exception given.
Expected Behavior:To show that the assignment was submitted on time even though the original overdue time was not met, the group was given a grace period.
