- How Blackboard Open Education clients be impacted?
All current Blackboard Open Education client contracts with an expiration date past the End of Life date will be terminated on June 30, 2021. Any client with a Blackboard Open Education contract which expires prior to the end-of-life date will have the option to terminate their contract at that time OR renew their Blackboard Open Education license through June 30, 2021. Termination of a client’s Blackboard Open Education contract does not impact the use or licensed agreement of other Blackboard products for which they are contracted.

What is the alternative for Open Education?
Open Education customers have the opportunity to purchase a Learn license for their online learning needs.

Do I need to pay to migrate the content on Open Education to another Learn site?

What will happen when Blackboard discontinues this product?
Users will no longer be able to access courses on Open Education after June 30, 2021. Plan to migrate all data from Open Education by June 30, 2021.

New users for Open Education will not be approved, customers may continue using Open Education through the remainder of the winddown period.

Unfortunately, no, new users will be provided access to Open Education.
