Time Zone Display not Working as Expected

Description:
When the user sets a time zone in their PC/ Machine and creates an assignment with a due date in an Ultra course, the due date doesn't show the same server time (EDT or UTC-05:00). 
 
Steps to Repeat:
Prerequisite: Set the time zone on your PC/Machine (user time zone) to be Europe/London
  1. Log into Blackboard Learn Ultra Experience as an administrator
  2. Navigate to an Ultra course
  3. In the Content Area, click + Create
  4. Click Assignment and note the Due date


Observed Behavior: 
9/29/22, 12:00 AM (UTC+1)

Expected Behavior:
9/29/22, 12:00 AM (BST)
 

Prerequisite: Set the time zone on your PC/Machine (user time zone) to be normal US/Eastern (or any other time zone)

Click Ctl+f5 to refresh the page so it picks up the time zone change.

Examples:

9/28/22, 6:00 PM (EDT)
9/28/22, 5:00 PM (CDT)
9/28/22, 4:00 PM (HAST)

PC/Machine (user time zone) to Bogota, Lima, Quito, Rio Branco (COT)

Displays as:
9/29/22, 12:00 AM (UTC-5)

Should Display as:
9/29/22, 12:00 AM (COT)

PC/Machine (user time zone) to Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London (BST)

Displays as:
9/29/22, 6:00 AM (UTC+1)

Should Display as:
9/29/22, 12:00 AM (BST)

 

Reset all your settings back to your normal: e.g. server in EDT and User in EDT.
Confirm your User Language pack is in English (United States)

  1. Log into Blackboard Learn Ultra Experience as an administrator 
  2. Access an Ultra course
  3. In the Content Area,  click + Create
  4. Click Assignment and note the Due date

Shows: Due date 9/29/22, 12:00 AM (EDT)

Change your User Language Pack e.g.:

English (United Kingdom) LP
Shows: Due date 29/09/2022, 00:00 (UTC+1)

Spanish LP
Shows: Fecha de entrega 29/9/22 0:00 (UTC-4)

French LP
Shows: Échéance 29/09/2022 00:00 (UTC+1)

 




Information:
