Date Published: Apr 11,2025

CategoryPlanned First Fix Release:3900.65.0 Release; Product:Blackboard Learn SaaS; Version:Ultra
Article No.: 000076892
Product:
Learn SaaS
Release:
SaaS
Service Pack(s):
Ultra
Description:
When a Discussion Board is created in an Original course and then the course gets converted to Ultra, the students' posts inside the discussion board don't trigger an attempt. So, they aren't shown as needing grading in the Grade Center and the rubric doesn't open up, if there is one added to the discussion board.

The students' posts are visible though.
Steps to Repeat:
  1. Log into Blackboard Learn Ultra Experience as an administrator
  2. Create a course
  3. Set "Choose a course view option" to Instructor Choice
  4. Create a Discussion board (discussion board test) in the Original view
  5. Select "Grade discussion forum" and set points possible
  6. Change view to Ultra
  7. Enter Student Preview and make an entry in the Discussion Board
  8. Exit Student preview and select "Save Student Preview User and its data"
  9. Go to Gradebook > Discussion board test

Observed Behavior:
The Student Status for the Student preview shows as "No entry" although the student submitted a post.

Expected Behavior:
Student status should display "Made an entry"

  1. Add any rubric to the forum
  2. Open the attempt for Student Preview
  3. Click on the Rubric icon

Observed Behavior :
No content is displayed. Nothing happens.

Expected Behavior :
The Rubric details are displayed.

Resolution/Workaround:

Create the Forum directly in the Ultra view.
