LTI 1.3 Tools Should Not Be Listed as Hyperlinks Because Converting The Name to a URL is Invalid

Descripción: When a user clicks on the Tool Name of an LTI 1.3 Tool, a new window opens to a non- valid FQDN. 

 

Pasos para repetir:

  1. Log into Blackboard Learn as an administrator 
  2. Navigate to the Administrator Panel
  3. Under Integrations click on LTI Tool Providers
  4. Edit paging > Show All, to see all of the registered Tools.
  5. Click on an LTI 1.1 Tool Fully Qualified Domain in the far left column
  6. As expected a new browser window opens to the integration
  7. Click on the Tool Name of an LTI 1.3 Tool. 

Observed Behavior: 
 A new window opens to a non- valid FQDN.

Expected Behavior: 
 LTI 1.3 tool is not a link.

 

Causa:
  • The system is trying to take the string that is the name of the Tool and convert that to a URL.
  • This is not possible with LTI 1.3 names. The system should not present the LTI 1.3 Tool Name in a hyperlink.
