Automated Feedback Not Displayed for Tests Containing Essay Questions

Description:

In Ultra courses, if a test includes an essay question, automated feedback for other auto-graded question types (e.g., multiple choice) is not shown after submission, even when the test is set to show automated feedback 'After Submission'.

Steps to Repeat:
  1. Log into Blackboard Learn Ultra Experience as an instructor
  2. In an Ultra course, create two tests
  3. For Test 1, add two multiple choice questions.
  4. For Test 2, add two multiple choice questions and one essay question.
  5. For all multiple choice questions in both tests:
  • Enable the Automated Feedback option
  • Provide both Correct Answer Feedback and Incorrect Answer Feedback
  1. In the Assessment Settings panel:
  • Enable the Post assessment grades automatically option
  • Set both Submission View and Automated Question Feedback to Available after submission
  • Turn off the Correct Answers setting
  1. Enter Student Preview mode
  2. Access both tests and submit an attempt
  3. Review the submissions

Observed Behavior:
Test 1: Feedback for multiple choice questions is displayed correctly upon submission.
Test 2: Feedback for multiple choice questions is not displayed upon submission.

Expected Behavior:
Feedback for multiple choice questions should be displayed upon submission for both tests.
