Descripción: Mobile devices are a significant part of our lives. From staying in touch with family and friends across the globe to mobile banking, we expect to do almost anything from our mobile phones. For instructors, the same expectations apply to teaching and learning. The Blackboard Learn app provides instructors with a way to manage courses on a mobile device.
As outlined in our most recent roadmap, we consolidated our mobile applications to a single unified experience, both reducing the complexity of supporting multiple apps, and allowing the experiences of instructors and students to be consistent between desktop and mobile by increasing the reliance on Responsive Web Design (RWD). Moving to this approach of RWD for our mobile applications will mean that as features are released to the web experience of Learn Ultra they will also become available on the mobile experience.
As with many of our feature releases, we are taking a phased approach with this project providing incremental value along the way. Gaining insight from our clients on their experiences of Responsive Web Design has been critical in that decision-making approach. To that end we have recently undertaken a technical preview program of our current Blackboard Instructor app, whereby we have moved the mobile experience to leverage Responsive Web for Ultra courses and allowing the same experience on mobile as with the desktop experience.
With the release of the unified app already complete in the early days of August we have moved to a single app to move forward. The instructor app will be removed from app stores on the 30th September. Full end of support and thus the consideration of the end of life (EoL) for the Instructor app is 30th September 2022.
Thank you!
