In Original Courses Math Formulas do not Fully Render in Announcement Emails

Descripción: In Original Courses, math formulas do not fully render in announcement emails.

Pasos para repetir:

  1. Log into Blackboard Learn Ultra Experience as an administrator
  2. Navigate to System Admin > Courses and create a course in the Original view 
  3. Enroll a user with an email address
  4. Go to the Announcements Tool and create an Announcement
  5. Using the MathType editor, create a math formula in the announcement using fractions and parentheses in the formula
  6. Select the option in the announcement 'Email Announcement, Send a copy of this announcement immediately' and publish the announcement
  7. View the Email
Observed Behavior: 
The formula is missing some formatting.

Expected Behavior:
Either no option to send the email with the math formula or the formula would fully render in the email.

The fix is that we added this text:
 

  • Please note that MathML may behave differently across various email clients, including desktop apps, webmail and mobile apps.

 

We did not change any functionality or behaviors.
