Cannot Attach a File Using "Browse Local Files" Button if Using Safari 13 or 14

Use Safari 13 or 14.
- Log into Blackboard Learn as System Administrator
- Navigate to System Admin > Courses > Create Test Course
- Access the Course created in Step 2
- Navigate to Content > Build Content > Item
- Select Browse Local Files > Attach a file > Submit
Expected Behavior:
The file is attached and the item is submitted successfully.
Observed Behavior:
The following error occurs:
A value must be provided: Name.

Resolución/Solución alternativa: After carefully reviewing this matter with we have concluded that this bug should not be fixed due to the obsolescence of Safari 13 and 14. According to help.blackboard.com, the last 2 major releases of Safari are supported. At the time of writing: that would comprise Safari 16 and 17.
Safari upgrades are bundled with Mac OS upgrades. Users affected by this issue therefore should upgrade to a version of the Mac OS that is new enough to use at least Safari 16 and preferably version 17. However, Apple itself does not update Safari 16 any more and Apple's traditional release cadence means Safari 18 will likely be released in the Fall of 2024. Macintosh hardware too old to upgrade to a version of the Mac OS that supports at least Safari 16 is end-of-useful-life and needs to be replaced in order to keep the critical system components secure but another browser like Firefox or Chrome might be able to be installed as a workaround.
