Edits of Reusable Object HTML Results in Change of Image URL Style

Pasos para repetir:

  1. Login to Environment as Admin via CAPTain
  2. Navigate to System Admin > Content Management: Manage Content > Institution 
  3. Create a new folder for testing HTML in Courses in the institution folder
  4. In your test folder, create a new Reusable Object for Course Contents by going to Build > Course Content
  5. Click on the HTML button in the Content Editor 
  6. Copy and paste some HTML that has an embedded image > Submit 
    • Note: At this point we have created our first piece of Reusable Object for Course Content
  7. Copy the permanent URL of the HTML content from the 360 View page  > REU-ITEM1.html
  8. Go into a test Course (Make sure it is an Original Course)
  9. Create a new Item in a Content Area 
  10. In the Content Editor, add any text and highlight it 
  11. Click the link button 
  12. The Link Path, paste the permanent URL of the HTML content 
  13. Make the 'Target' to Open in a New Window > Click 'Insert'
  14. Result: You have now added the Reusable Object HTML as a Content Item in the Course
  15. Go back to the folder in the Content Collection with the Reusable Object you created
  16. Make a Copy of the existing HTML Content by clicking the chevron and copy it to the same folder
  17. Renamed it to REU-ITEM2.html
  18. Click on the copied HTML to verify that it is correct 
  19. Click the chevron next to the copied HTML, and then click 'Edit in Blackboard' 
  20. Highlight the embedded image 
  21. Click on the image icon in the Content Editor and browse for a new image to replace it 
  22. Click Submit > Click Update > Now the image should be replaced > Click Submit 
  23. Copy the Permanent URL of the copied HTML content by going into 360 View > REU-ITEM2.html
  24. Go into a test Course and create another Item 
  25. In the Content Editor, add any text and highlight it 
  26. Click the link button 
  27. The Link Path, paste the permanent URL of the HTML content 
  28. Make the 'Target' to Open in a New Window > Click 'Insert'  > Submit

Expected Behavior:
The image for this copied HTML content should appear within the Course

Observed Behavior:
The image is broken in the content within the Course
